Gun Control is really citizen control. The Constitution of the United States makes no mention of police, but it does mention the right of the citizens to have guns. The founders, such as Thomas Jefferson, did not want a full time army, nor police. The plced their trust in the people, not the government.
In many states the police have no duty to protect people, nor to arrest criminals.
Those jurisdictions which have the more stringent gun control laws also have the highest crime rates.

I would vote to abolish laws restricting the rights of citizens and legal residents to have guns.
I would also support santions against state governments which infringe on the right of people to own firearms or to defend themselves.
